Whitepaper II : Continuing education and workplace learning – challenges and possible paths for the transformation of the automotive (supply) industry in Thuringia

This report presents the latest findings of the BeaT (Renewing Vocational Training for Automotive Transformation) project on current continuing education practices in the automotive (supply) industry in Thuringia. Systematic personnel development, forward-looking planning, awareness of transformation, solid financing, and integration of continuing education measures into everyday operations are key criteria for successful continuing education. Some of the companies surveyed stand out positively in these areas, while others still have room for improvement. The measures we recommend for operational adaptation vary depending on the type of company (active, cautious, pragmatic) and include financing, integration of continuing education into everyday operations, employee participation, and transparent communication.
