BeAT – Professional Development and Training CenterThe energy transition is not only making itself felt in the automotive industry. In other energy-intensive sectors, too, it is causing people to worry about the future. One of BeaT's tasks is to disseminate knowledge beyond the economy and region under investigation.
We fulfilled this task twice on August 22, 2024. Together with students from the Institute of Sociology at the University of Jena, we were invited to participate in a works council seminar on transformation organized by the IG Metall Weser-Elbe office and the Bremen Chamber of Employees in Bremerhaven, where we presented our project results, among other things.
We also learned a great deal from the exciting discussions and identified some similarities, but also some differences. The energy transition has not yet reached everywhere in Bremerhaven and still raises various questions, skepticism, and sometimes fears among many employees.
