BeAT – Professional Development and Training CenterOn December 11, 2025, the established ThEEN e.V. format »Dialogue with Energy Policy Spokespersons« took place. This semi-annual event offers ThEEN members the opportunity to engage directly with the energy policy spokespersons of the Thuringian state parliament factions and to discuss current issues. For the DekaRB project, participation was particularly valuable, as project results were presented and discussed with political decision-makers.
Project Results in Focus
In addition to the project ZO.RRO – Zero Carbon Cross Energy System, current results from DekaRB were also presented. Dr. Sittel introduced key project findings and responded to questions from the members of parliament. This highlighted how important it is to bring scientific and practical insights into the political discourse at an early stage in order to jointly shape the transformation of the energy system.
The discussions made it clear that, alongside technical issues, political and regulatory leeway is a decisive factor for economic development and the market introduction of new technologies. With its regular dialogues, ThEEN supports the creation of favorable framework conditions and helps to reduce existing barriers.
Transfer Mission: Scientific Policy Advice
Direct exchange with political representatives is of great importance for the DekaRB project. Only when technical innovations and political framework conditions are considered together can the energy transition be successfully achieved. The transfer mission of Scientific Policy Advice plays a central role here: it provides independent, fact-based analyses and offers guidance in complex decision-making processes.
DekaRB aims to contribute by preparing research results in an accessible form, bringing them into political discourse, and thus providing impulses for political decisions. In this way, knowledge is transferred into practice, accelerating the energy transition and helping to overcome existing obstacles.
